Fixed price contract
Appreciated by many customers, it guarantees a firm price in advance for a scope of work defined by plans and specifications and an established duration of work. As a result, the contractor is required to carry out the work in accordance with the contractual documents and at an agreed price. The price of the contract can only be amended by the issuance of an amendment to the contract resulting from a modification agreement between the client and the contractor for additional work that was unforeseeable and/or requested by the client. This type of contract requires a sufficiently well-defined project to be able to obtain a fixed price quote.
This type of contract consists in entrusting the design and the realization of a complete project to the contractor. When a performance quote is given, the turnkey contract ensures a fixed cost from design to delivery. For customers wishing to obtain a product at a firm cost from the start of a project, this type of contractual agreement is then an interesting option.
